BENGALURU: A father and his son who attempted to smuggle gold pieces concealed in wrist watches and face-wash tubes into Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) were arrested on Wednesday. The watches and tubes were seized and the gold, worth Rs 23 lakh, was extracted from them. Sources with the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Bengaluru Customs said the smuggling attempt came to light when the duo disembarked from an Air India flight (AI 339) from Bangkok.
